AADAP congratulates Venice Japanese American Memorial Monument Committee (VJAMM) led by Phyllis Hayashibara for its success in building a monument dedicated to the Japanese-Americans that were incarcerated. The monument was erected on the corner sidewalk of Venice and Lincoln on April 26, 2017. The dedication ceremony had over 200 attendees and included mainstream press. The theme of the day was, “We Must Never Let This Happen Again.” It was a terrific day to see all of the politicians and Venice community come together in this dedication. AADAP will remain a supporter of the VJAMM Committee as long as it stands.
