Mochitsuki 2017

AADAP wishes all of our supporters a very Happy 2018 New Year! On December 29, 2017, AADAP held a very special Annual Holiday Mochitsuki event at AADAPs’ Therapeutic Community Unit, 5318 South Crenshaw Boulevard. Mochi is delicious and traditional food that is eaten in the Japanese New Year. Clients and staff start Mochi pounding early at dawn and, after, begin group preparation of fresh mochi. A special thank you to all of the volunteers, and especially to our friends from the Seinan Senior Center pictured below, who made the most scrumptious Inari sushi. They helped to cut up the Atomic Cafes’ chasu and helped Nancy Sekigawa, Outpatient, in the kitchen, too! Vincent Imamoto, Employment Access, was in charge of diligently taking the cooked rice and adding into the the kneaders. Yvette Enrique, Outpatient, made sure to cook rice from dawn to early evening hours. The traditional Ozoni soup was prepared by the careful hands of volunteer Keisho Miyahara and carefully poured by Tom Chic, Prevention. AADAP wishes you a healthy, joy-filled and successful 2018!
