A. SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Clinician/Therapist under the supervision of the Program Coordinator and Clinical Supervisor will conduct Mental Health Services including outreach, intake/assessment, individual, group, family therapy, and case management services with the SPA 5,6, and 8.

B. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. INTAKE AND ASSESSMENT SERVICES (20%)
    1. Schedule an assessment with caregiver and client and collaborate with referring party/source
    2. To effectively assess family needs across a broad spectrum of areas, recognizing professional boundaries and the need for consultation from others discipline.
    3. Develop individualized service plans for participants, including assessment and referrals for additional support services.
    4. Follow Agency requirements regarding accurate and timely case records, statistical and other administrative procedures
  2. DIRECT SERVICE PROVISION (70%)
    1. Manage caseload as assigned.
    2. Conduct diagnostic assessment and develop treatment plan.
    3. Implement treatment plan to include: individual, group, and family therapy services.
    4. Coordinate support services.
    5. Maintain files and records according to agency, county, state, and federal guidelines.
    6. Submit other reports as assigned.
    7. Under supervision, provide direct clinical service hours to Agency clients using the most appropriate intervention modalities.
    8. Serve as a liaison with schools, probation and court offices, and other institutions as appropriate.
    9. Participate in weekly case conference meetings.
    10. Participation in on-going supervision based on level of skill and professional development
  1. OUTREACH AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT (10%)
    1. Conduct outreach to youth and families, particularly those who are underserved or difficult to reach.
    2. Participate in community-based planning, as appropriate.
    3. Perform other agency duties as assigned.

C. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES):

  1. REQUIREMENTS:
    1. Must possess a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or related field.
    2. Must be registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences
    3. Have evidence based practice accreditation in Triple Positive Parenting Program and/or Trauma Focused CBT
    4. Experience or be familiarized with DMH documentation.
    5. Minimum one (1) year of experience working with children, youth, and families in the mental health field.
    6. Ability to organize and prepare documentation in a timely manner.
    7. Strong organizational, written, and communication skills.
    8. Permanent Residence or U.S. citizen; proof of work eligibility upon hiring.
    9. Valid California Drivers License, current minimum automobile insurance, and an appropriate motor vehicle.
    10. At least three years of recovery or drug free lifestyle as of the date of the application.
    11. Complete a physical examination and TB test with one (1) week of date of hire.
    12. Pass a criminal background check to work with children and adolescents.
  2. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Experience or be familiarized with Exym or electronic data interchange/web-based documentation.
    2. Language(s) spoken and/or written English and Spanish.
