A. SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Case Worker, under the supervision of the Olympic Academy Coordinator conducts screening assessment interviews, intake/admissions, direct service, and case management services to the youth resident population white maintaining treatment protocols in accordance with established principals, policies and procedures, which govern AADAP’s Olympic Academy.
B. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 1. INTAKE AND ASSESSMENT SERVICES:
- Answer and screen phone calls, and determine appropriate services.
- Conduct comprehensive assessment of each participant to determine placement into program.
- Complete all necessary screening and eligibility forms..
- Provide referrals as needed.
- CONDUCT TREATMENT AND ADVOCACY SERVICES FOR PROJECT PARTICIPANTS:
- Manage caseload as assigned.
- Manage medical, dental, psychiatric, & legal appointments for all clients.
- Maintain files and records according to agency, school, county, state, and federal guidelines.
- Work with clients’ primary counselors and school teachers in managing health, legal, psychiatric, and educational needs of clients.
- Provide necessary reports and communication regarding health, legal, and educational needs of clients.
- Submit other reports as assigned.
- Provide supervision and guidance to residents during daily structure.
- Facilitate resident encounter groups.
- Provide client advocacy services, court representation, crisis intervention and transportation.
- Engage youth residents in leisure time activity/hobby development.
C. QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES):
- REQUIREMENTS:
- Two years of college education related to field or equivalent work experience related to field.
- Permanent resident or U.S. citizen; proof of work eligibility upon hiring.
- Valid California Drivers License with proof of Automobile Liability Insurance.
- At least three(3) years of recovery or a drug free lifestyle as of the date of the application.
- Ability to work with people of diverse cultural, educational, social, and economic backgrounds.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in computer operations.
- Possess positive interpersonal relations, professional phone ethics, and ability to multi-task.
- Complete a physical examination and TB test within one(1) week of date of hire.
- Pass a criminal background check to work with children and adolescents.
- Obtain a class B drivers license within four (4) months of date of hire.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish or other Asian languages.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with the Therapeutic Community as a treatment modality.
- State ADP counselor certification.
