A. SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Clinical Supervisor reports to the Youth Outpatient Treatment Coordinator and is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and supervision of clinical/case management activities for a substance and mental health outpatient treatment facility. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for providing direct services, clinical supervision to licensed and unlicensed staff, qualified interns and volunteers; and performs related duties as required.

B. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. CLINICAL SUPERVISION (35%):
    1. Provide weekly clinical supervision and case review to treatment staff and interns.
    2. Responsible for monitoring the referral and intake process.
    3. Review and approve service plans for appropriate interventions.
    4. Develop plans and methods to evaluate progress on treatment goals and objectives.
    5. Provide technical assistance with crisis intervention.
    6. Monitors and ensures that documentation and case records are developed and maintained in accordance with agency, local, state, and federal regulations.
    7. Implement and maintain quality assurance plan.
    8. Responsible for program compliance with mandatory reporting laws, mandatory incident reporting, ethical guidelines, and other compliance items as required.
    9. Perform chart reviews to comply with agency, county, state, and federal regulations.
  2. COMMUNITY VISIBILITY AND NETWORKING (10%):
    1. Participate in community-base planning meetings.
    2. Represent agency at community functions and events.
    3. Conduct trainings and presentations as needed.
    4. Function as liaison between agency and funding departments as assigned.
  3. DIRECT SERVICE PROVISION (50%):
    1. Screen calls and walk in clients and determine appropriate services.
    2. Complete all necessary screening and eligibility forms, and referrals for additional support services.
    3. Manage caseload and billing productivity as assigned.
    4. Conduct diagnostic assessment and develop treatment plan.
    5. Implement treatment plan to include: individual, group, and family counseling services.
    6. Coordinate support services.
    7. Maintain files and records according to agency, county, state, and federal guidelines.
    8. Serve as a liaison with schools, probation and court offices, and other institutions as appropriate.
    9. Participate in weekly case conference meetings.
    10. Follow Agency requirements regarding accurate and timely case records, statistical and other administrative procedures.
  4. OTHER DUTIES (5%):
    1. Assist in proposal writing.
    2. Submit other reports as assigned.
    3. Provide clinical consultation to other AADAP programs.

C. QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES):

  1. REQUIREMENTS:
    1. Board Certified Diploma in Clinical Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapist with at least two (2) years of clinical supervision experience.
    2. Permanent resident or U.S. Citizen proof of work eligibility upon hiring.
    3. Valid California Driver’s License and current automobile liability insurance.
    4. Must have at least three (3) years of recovery or a drug-free lifestyle as of the date of application.
    5. Must be able to work with people of diverse cultures and economic backgrounds.
    6. Demonstrated experience in working with children, youth, and families with a substance abuse and/or mental health disorder.
    7. Demonstrated background in family therapy.
    8. Must be able to pass criminal background check to work with children and adolescents.
  2. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Bi-lingual in English and one or more of the following languages preferred: Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean, Khmer, Tagalog, Samoan or Tongan.
    2. Minimum of two (2) years experience in staff development and training.
    3. Completion of drug and alcohol counseling certification program.
    4. Working knowledge of LA County DMH documentation procedures and protocol.
