A. SUMMARY STATEMENT:

Under the direction of the Unit Coordinator provide guidance and direction to the youth resident population while maintaining treatment protocols in accordance with established principles, policies and procedures which govern AADAP's Therapeutic Community.

B. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. PROVIDE INDIVIDUAL CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES (30%):
   1. Maintain caseload documentation in an efficient and timely manner in accordance with federal, state, county, and AADAP standards.
   2. Provide client advocacy services, court representation, crisis intervention and support services as needed.
2. FACILITATE RESIDENT GROUP ACTIVITIES IN ACCORDANCE WITH AADAP’S TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY AND TEAM CONCEPT APPROACH TO TREATMENT (40%):
   1. Facilitate scheduled resident encounter groups.
   2. Provide daily monitoring of treatment activities in the Residential Unit.
3. PROMOTE TEAM CONCEPT IN IMPLEMENTING TREATMENT GOALS AND OBJECTIVES (30%):
   1. Assist in the intake process of new admissions to the Residential Unit.
   2. Assist other counseling staff in developing treatment plans for residents.
   3. Provide support in meeting the unit's transportation needs.
   4. Provide outreach services as required (presentations, networking, etc.)
   5. Perform other functions assigned.

C. QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITES:

1. REQUIREMENTS:
   1. Four years of college education related to field or equivalent work experience related to position.
   2. Able to work with people of diverse cultural, educational, social, and economic backgrounds.
   3. Valid California Drivers License with proof of Automobile Liability Insurance.
   4. Permanent resident or U.S. citizen; proof of work eligibility upon hiring.
   5. Must be able to work with people of diverse cultural, educational, social, and economic backgrounds.
   6. Must have at least three (3) years of recovery or a drug free lifestyle as of the date of application.
   7. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in computer operations.
   8. Complete physical examination and TB test upon hire.
   9. Demonstrate ability to assess group treatment dynamics and determine appropriate action plans.
   10. Applicants must complete a criminal background check with no felonies upon hire.
2. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
   1. Experienced with Therapeutic Community as a treatment modality.
   2. Ability to develop rapport with addict population.
   3. State approved alcohol and other drug certifications.
   4. Bilingual/bicultural capabilities with Asian/Pacific languages and cultural groups.
