IYCC provides culturally relevant and language appropriate services for immigrant Southeast Asian youth and families in Los Angeles County.

Languages: Cambodian and Vietnamese

 

Programs And Services:

  • Individual, Group and Family Counseling: for substance abuse and domestic violence
  • Technical assistance and translation: for monolingual CalWORKS participants
  • Vocational Training: Computer and electronics courses, Job development, On-the-job Training, and Job Placement
  • Community education seminars: on substance abuse, health, and social services
  • Vietnamese Tutorial Project: UCLA students offer tutoring and college prep for high school youth, while younger youth take language and cultural classes
  • Cambodian Youth Project: culturally relevant social & recreational youth activities for high risk students at Poly HS in Long Beach
  • Vietnamese American Youth United (VAYU): leadership development, cultural awareness, and drug free event organizing for Leuzinger HS and North Torrance HS students
  • Problem Gambling prevention: To prevent and reduce the harmful effects of problem gambling for the API populations within Southern California by providing training and technical assistance services that are culturally and linguistically competent.
  • Cultural events: IYCC hosts celebrations for the Southeast Asian community
